Technology Leadership Initiative

Providing high school students opportunities, tools, and motivation to excel in Computer Science.


ALL students participating in camp must bring their own laptop. They will need to be able to install Java and Python during class. If they do not have a laptop to bring in, please let us know immediately, so that we can try to accommodate you.

TLI High School Academy

This summer, the program will focus on introducing students in grades 8-12 to computer science, specifically software and hardware. This is a 1 week, intensive program that will be held June 17th - June 28th, 2024! Click here for more information. To register, please fill out the application by clicking here.

Our mission is to introduce high school students to computer science and give them the means and motivation to succeed in the field. High School Academy is a free two and a half week introduction to the field of computer science. Students will learn about such topics as hardware, operating systems, big data, web design, human/computer interaction, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, programming with Java and Python, and mobile application development. Students will also learn about the benefits of being a CS student at Pitt and graduating with a CS degree.

Transportation

Each student is responsible for transportation to and from the University of Pittsburgh.
